Time

It makes no exceptions for anyone and waits for no one. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor; black or white; or young or old. We all have the constraints of time. While it plugs along second by second, you have a choice. You can choose to become trapped in the past as it leaves you behind or you can cherish it and live your life. You can choose that wonderful feeling of joy of living in the moment or that terrifying moment of darkness by wasting away in the past.

If you live in the past, it will eat you alive until you will feel worn, used and left behind. You soon become consumed by the past. You become engulfed in self pity and focus on everything you used to have or don’t have at the present. You become bitter, negative and feel that everyone is living and moving on with their life except you. You will feel lost like a piece of dust in the wind blowing aimlessly about with no direction. Here is the thing!!! It is never too late to change directions. Every second is a chance to start over and take a step to move forward. Even if it is just a baby step.

Choose now to live in the now! Time is to be cherished. Every second is a moment in time that you will never get back. Time should be embraced with the realization that it is precious. There will never be another now or another moment exactly like this one. It is special and unique and can never be recreated. It is one of a kind and should be treated with love. It is priceless, for you are never promised another tomorrow. So don’t waste today.

Don’t waste it worrying about what lies ahead, for that time is not here yet. Worrying will only rob you of the joy you could be living today. By worrying you are wasting the precious moments of time like a drop of water being wasted in the desert, only to be soaked up in the earth without anything to show for it. The present moment must be valued and embraced. Sure you can take a minute to mourn for the past, but there is no going back. Even if you are stripped of everything you have, you still have time and the choice to either feel joy or despair. So choose to move forward, one baby step at a time. Even if you fall, you fall forward and are still moving ahead with your life instead of standing still in the past.
